Workshop Description
Talent Management is about effectively building and managing the human resource capabilities required to support the business strategy of an organization. An effective Executive Talent Management (ETM) program will focus on the recruitment and selection, development, assessment, succession, compensation, and retention of senior level leaders throughout the enterprise. An integrated approach is essential to build long-term sustainability for the organization
The advantages of an integrated Executive Talent Management approach are:
- More effective coordination and management of all aspects of executive talent management.
- Improved quality of leadership by defining the requirements and performance expectations for each position and providing the resources and support needed for leader selection and development.
- Reduced costs for executive talent management overall by establishing and leveraging leadership requirements and measurements across the organization
- Timely acquisition, management, and retention of the right leaders, in the right roles, and at the right time.
This Workshop will give you the foundation for developing and implementing an Executive Talent Management Strategy.
Workshop Objectives
As a result of this Workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the required leadership capabilities needed to execute on their organization's business strategy
- Define the Executive Talent Management practices and resources required to consistently recruit, select, develop, and retain qualified, effective leaders who deliver expected results
- Build and implement an Executive Leadership Development Program that will:
- Enable executives as leaders better understand and measure their contribution, as individuals and team members, the value it brings to the organization, and how to continuously improve on it
- Leverage the size and business capabilities of the entire enterprise to better identify and develop our high-potential leaders to fill leadership positions (Right Candidates for Right Roles) across organizational boundaries
- Align and integrate ETM practices with a Balanced Scorecard approach; measure performance and business results at the organization, individual and ETM program levels
- Establish Leadership Development as one of the organization's core competencies; demonstrate how to effectively develop high-potentials for future leadership responsibilities; and support the development of existing leadership.
Our Executive Talent Management Framework
We look at Executive Talent Management as a single, integrated framework. It is comprised of six components. They are:
- Executive Succession and Leadership Planning
- Leadership Development
- Executive Performance Management
- Executive Recruitment and Selection
- Executive Compensation
- Executive Retention
The six components are integrated and managed through the use of three shared, enabling Foundation Requirements:
- Two Profiles: Leadership Position Profiles and Individual Leader Profiles
- Performance and Assessment Criteria (Measures)
- Dedicated and Integrated Resources.
